Hayden | 1 Year

Watching the babies in our Baby Steps series grow up before our eyes is so much fun.  I love being able to see each of these little ones every few months and marvel at all of the growth and development between each session. 

Hayden was so adorable for her 1 year session.  She learned to stand on her own just prior to her session, and she was so proud of herself. 

I just love all of the outfits Hayden's mom picks for her.  How precious is she in her little petticoat and cowgirl boots?  Love it. 

And of course, Hayden loved having a chance to smash a cake for pictures.  This was her first bite of cake, and she was definitely enjoying it.

2011 Photo of the Year Contest

2011 was a year full of incredible photography. Scott and I consider ourselves truly blessed to share our passion for photography with such wonderful clients. Our clients in 2011 were fabulous, and we had our best year yet.

With so many beautiful images from 2011, we found it nearly impossible to put together our favorites. We decided to have our clients choose a few of their favorites from their wedding or session. It has been wonderful to see what images mean the most to our clients. We love the images they have selected. Reading our client's comments about why these are their favorites was so touching. We love sharing the gift of photography with others, but hearing how much our clients treasure their images is so touching.

Now we need your help to decide the overall best photo of the year for 2011.  The images in the contest are those selected by our clients who chose to participate. 

The winner from each category will receive the winning image as an 8x10 print, and the overall winner of the 2011 Photo of the Year will receive the winning image as a mounted 11x14 print.

The Photo of the Year contest will be a little different than years past. To cast your vote, please visit our Facebook page. Then, simply "like" and/or comment on your favorites. Only one comment per person per image will be counted as a vote.

Voting will continue until midnight on Friday, March 16th, and winners will be announced on our blog and Facebook page by Monday, March 19th.

Krista & Scott | Engagement

Somehow this winter, we have photographed engagement sessions on what have to be the coldest days we have had in Colorado.  Krista and Scott's engagement session was no exception.  However, these are some of our favorite images from the winter season.  Though it was freezing, the weather was perfect otherwise for some gorgeous images.  We had a great time wandering around Denver with these two.  Krista and Scott are a fun-loving couple, and kept us laughing the entire session.  It was such an honor to photograph these two.  The love and happiness that is evident between the two of them in their images is just beautiful.  These are the kinds of moments we love to capture.

We already cannot wait to photograph their wedding this summer at Red Rocks.  We know it will be a wonderful day!  Congratulations Krista & Scott!

Wyatt | 1 Year Old

Wyatt has grown up so fast. It is really hard to believe it has already been a year since this little baby was born....

...and has grown into this one year old boy.

Wyatt has developed the most adorable personality.  He is quite the charmer.  His little smile can just melt your heart.  I cannot wait to watch him grow even more in the next few years!

Of course, no one year session is complete without a "cake smash", and Wyatt definitely loved that cake!

I cannot wait to photograph this family more as Wyatt and his family grows!  Happy Birthday Wyatt!

Christopher

Just over a year ago, we had the opportunity to take some fall family portraits for a sweet family. This year, we took some annual portraits of Christopher.  He is such a fun kid.  He had us all laughing with some of his jokes.  We had a blast photographing Christopher.

Daralynne & Tyler {engagement}

Tyler and Daralynne have to be one of the sweetest, most genuine couples we have met. They also have such a unique story. Daralynne is originally from Canada, and Tyler is a US native. The two of them met at a Bible school in Austrailia, then both came back to the US to finish school. Tyler proposed in Hawaii, and they are planning to have their wedding in Canada.  We are so excited to see where God takes them next as a married couple!

We had so much fun with Tyler and Daralynne for their engagement session.  It was completely freezing cold the day of their session, so we had to take a few breaks to warm up in our cars and to grab some Starbucks.  However, their pictures were definitely worth braving the freezing cold temperatures.
